La Cle Des Montagnes is a great addition to Franschhoek and it redefines the meaning of "home away from home". The very fabulous Sarah Ord has done it again.... with her very unique touches throughout the villas, fantastic patterns, warm colors, gigantic fireplace and the most comfortable beds ever! Our villa had 3 oversized en suite bedrooms + an enormous kitcken/dining room connected to a huge living area only by a fantastic fireplace. The house comes with a private Butler (the fabulous Frank) and a housekeeper (and a private chef if you want one!). A perfect place for a family or a group of friends. La Grange (our villa) is one of 4....the other 3 will be completed sometimes in June. Get your "cle" (key) soon!!!

Feeling French.....?
Chelsea Village in Wynberg must be the quaintest (is there such a word?) neighborhood in Capetown. Last week, on one of my many mornings of "discovery" I came across FRENCH ACCENT a little gem tucked in the courtyard behind L'Orangerie and stocking on all things "French" and smelling delicious!!
They also stock on luxury teas, Soaps, Shower Gels, Lotions, etc from Italy & Portugal but mainly French of course.

FRESH at Paul Cluver!
Vesper, Alex and I went on a very exciting walk around the garden after lunch and we went home with a bag full of strawberries, pomegranate, figs, yellow and red tomatoes, basil, apples, etc....( sorry but the picking in the garden is not for everyone!!).
You can have lunch inside on big communal tables...or outside in the beautiful garden looking out at the absolutely gorgeous Cluver Estate.
Chef Joan, roams through the tables talking about the food she is preparing in the kitchen and entices you to try a few of her creations with her warm welcoming smile!!! We tried 3 different salads, some Cape Salmon, Stuffed Figs and a decadent chocolate brownie ....the wine was perfectly chilled and a great afternoon was enjoyed by ALL!!! apparently she also makes a killer curry!
FRESH is only 50 minutes away from Capetown, so whether you are on your way somewhere on the garden route- or your are looking for a great venue for Breakfast Or Lunch....GO!!!! it's well worth the ride there...
FRESH is open Tuesday to Saturday for Breakfast and Lunch. Bookings recommended 071- 563 6020.
Kids Friendly.
and by the way....CONGRATS to Paul Cluver for making the TOP 5 Wineries in the country.

FOOD LOVERS MARKET...LOVE!
I LOOOOOVE this supermarket!!!
The Healthy Nibbles section is almost as good as the one at Whole Foods in the US...WOW! with lots of NOT so healthy nibbles as well...
The SWEET CORNER??? just don't go with your toddler or your husbands!!! (see pics!)- They do have a huge selection of sugar free "caring Candies" on TAP as well! and every possible color of Jelly Bean sold individually.
One of my favorite corners was- 'The Olive Tap’, where customers can get imported olive oil on tap in a variety of flavours, such as lemon-infused extra virgin olive oil and my new favorite " The Director's reserve" at very moderate prices.
The Fruit & Veg section goes on for kilometers...and today the sweet smell of plums was just the BEST.
Then there's a Fish Market, a Biltong Bar, a HUGE Cheese Selection, Bakery, Sushi Bar.....etc. You can get lost for hours in there. Apparently it gets so busy they have to close the doors at times...I was there at 8:30 this AM and it was "grocery shopping heaven!"... i guess that's one of the advantages of dropping Vesper off in Constantia in the morning! :-)
Oh...and there's a full blown Cafe complete with a beer and wine tasting area, called The Cellar, that even serves beer on tap!
Happy shopping.
